What do you love most about your profession? What I love most is knowing that I am helping. Although people often say we all have the same 24 hours to make it happen, and this may be true, we don’t all have the same foundation and support to make it happen. I take pride in giving my all to help others get what they need to be successful. I believe in offering a helping hand and guidance to help people get started. As my mom would say, “everyone is experiencing something in their life, be the reason they smile that day.”

Who influenced you most during your time at CCBC? The faculty and staff provided an at-home feel and assisted in every way to ensure success. Often, instead of just saying what needed to be done, staff would personally walk with me to find the necessary department or person to assist me. There wasn’t just one department at the Catonsville campus that was helpful, they all were. One Professor, Dr. Antione Tomlin, was very instrumental in helping me reach the finish line and pushing me to pursue my 4-year degree.

How did your education at CCBC prepare you for what you are doing today? CCBC equipped me with the academic foundation needed to receive my degree from the University of Baltimore. Additionally, the skills and resources I obtained allow me to effectively support leadership, colleagues, students, and external partnerships in my current position.

What advice would you give current students or recent grads interested in pursuing a career in your professional field? Never be afraid to ask questions and know that likely no two answers will be the same. Many different roads can lead to the end result; however, finding the most effective and efficient way will make life much easier. Also, never be afraid to be the first to create or complete something. Everyone that makes history took a step that others feared. Be Bold and Be Fearless.
