Do you ever think about what it would be like to meet yourself? Do you think you’d leave a good impression? Are you easy to approach or difficult to talk to? This way of thinking somehow led me to thinking about gratefulness and what it means to be grateful.

Gratefulness is the act of feeling or showing appreciation.

A few days after all my pondering, I began watching a new series on Netflix called “Call The Midwife.” In one episode, there was an old man named Joe Collett. He was an interesting character because of the way he behaved. Every time he would do something, he would describe it as living a “life of luxury,” even though he was poor and living in less than ideal conditions. As I watched this episode, I realized how much I have to be grateful for and how I don’t always show it. I guess that’s because I’ve become so accustomed to how my life is that it seemed almost silly to be grateful for the most basic things. Through Mr. Collett, I’ve been reflecting and thinking about how lucky I’ve been in life and how much I have to be grateful for.

I think being grateful includes expressing this feeling to other people. If I am grateful and thankful for something or someone doesn’t it make sense to express it. This is what I’m not very good at and need to work on – expressing myself.

What do you have to be grateful for?

See you next week
