Hellooooooo my classmates, colleagues, professors and everyone else at CCBC…
Nearly done with fall semester and I, for one am really looking forward for a short break to catch my breath. This is my last semester at CCBC and feels like a roller coaster ride. At times I am totally overwhelmed with all the work and then really enjoy the adrenaline rush to complete my various assignments. I do procrastinate (rarely ☺) and that gets me into trouble, but I must say, all my professors, colleagues, my boss and fellow classmates have been really supportive during my learning process, guiding me and being there, when I was going through a difficult time, especially last year.
That being said, Friday October 13th, we took a bus trip to New York, which was organized by The International Club, Black Student Union and Humanities and Social Science Pathway – CCBC. I was super excited to go on this trip, as were some others, and met many wonderful people. It was a day trip and while going to different places I learned a lot and at the same time changed my perspectives on certain topics, thoughts or just day to day things that we take for granted. All of us are truly blessed for everything and everyone we have in our lives and growing with experiences, whether good or bad, as they are teaching us something.
Following day, I came across few fascinating words, which now printed on brightly colored paper, are posted on the wall next to the mirror, to read and feel the success, abundance and security we all have in some form or another in our lives. They are:

“I am Beautiful”
“I am Confident”
“I am Courageous”
“I am Excited About Today”
Yes, I am excited about today and everyday of my life. Sometimes we take the smallest thing, which could mean the world to another, for granted. How many of you smile at strangers when going about your busy day.
Do you know your smile can at times, if not always, make a major difference in someone’s life and yours as well?
