The other day I was reading my blog about my current 50 movies and just laughed. It makes you realize how much you can change within a span of a year. If you know me, you know I love laying in bed or on the couch watching movies. I did that a lot with lock down, whenever I had free time, wasn’t watching a show, or stuck scrolling through tik tok. I feel like I have a type of movies that I’ve been into lately but I can’t quite put my finger on it. But if I had to say something about these movies is that 90% of them have a common theme of being mind boggling in a way. I listed them just as they came to mind no specific order of favoritism or anything. I would check them out if you ever have free time.
Tusks (2014) – This was a comedy horror movie and it gave me anxiety.
Being John Malkovich (1999)– The one movie that makes me question life, it reminded me of the Sims
Fight Club (1999)– a classic mind boggling movie, I googled more info after watching it because I just had too
Hollow Man (2000)– a real life mad scientist, but also makes me really want to work in research
The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)– This type of movie is the best type of movie, like I don’t how to describe it, gave me Fantastic Mr. Fox and Moonrise kingdom vibes.
The Science of Sleep (2006)– the way he dreams, made me think, hey, I really do think that’s how that works.
What Happened to Monday (2017)– Tik tok recommenced this to me and did not disappoint.
I’m thinking of ending things (2020)– This was so confusing and weird, of course I read a blog explaining it.
Borat 2 (2020)– This made me laugh, high standards of comedy.
Midsommar (2019)– creepy, creepy, creepy, but the details, I had to watch 2 times
Lost in Translation (2003)– billy Murray and Scarlet Johansson? yes.
Jojo Rabbit– I cried both times I watched
Once again, please watch trailer before watching movie. About 99% of the movies listed are rated R and the 1% is Jojo Rabbit. If you have any recommendations for movies like this I would love to hear from you guys or any thoughts after you watched.
