Spring break is around the corner and everyone is ready to go about with their plans, be it with friends, family or even our four legged furry babies…
I too have jotted down a few things to complete before the break is over, but first and foremost, enjoy the sunny days. Than sort of J complete all my future assignments; tend to the garden and make it look pretty again (no idea about gardening but I try), reach out to and meet friends, pamper myself, and make sure I get a tan (easily done).
Amongst all of the activities and having fun, please do not forget the most important people in your life, the ones who stand by you at each step of the way, always supporting you, that is:
Your Parents
Be it your own biological father or mother or both, an elder brother or sister, an aunt or even a friend who you look up to as a parent.
My father had written a poem for me in December 2015, using the alphabets in my first name, and it was the last one, before he passed away in July 2016. Every time I feel down or lose hope, I read the words and they somehow give me the courage to move on.
Many will admire you, for who your are,
Every step you take, will take you far,
Have no fear, for God is with you,
Never worry about what others think of you,
A time will come, when you will know,
Zealously you will rise above all we know.
For all those who still have their parents with them, do something special this break. Give them a break too and also be there for them, for tomorrow brings no certainty on where they or we will be. Don’t let a day come when you say,
“I wish I had said a few more words or been nice or given that extra hug I so wanted to give.”
Go and hug them today, buy flowers and let them know you are there for them. It doesn’t have to be a special occasion or father’s day or mother’s day to show them you care.
You are extraordinarily inspiring!
Thank you 🙂
