Today, on the last day of the year 2020, I found myself pausing for a moment and reflecting on the past year. Instead of saying “good riddance” I decided to say leave us with peace, 2020. Leave us with the good qualities we learned about ourselves through all the challenges and take away the bad. Leave us with resilience and take away helplessness. Leave us with hope and take away despair. Leave us with compassion and take away hardness of the heart. Leave us with love and take away hate. Leave us with new beginnings and take away the past. Leave us with health and take away diseases. Leave us with strength and take away weakness. Leave us with abundance and take away scarcity. Leave us with new goals and take away old ones. Leave us with improved plans and take away ruined ones. Leave us with complete transformation and take away confusion. Leave us with peace and take away all the disturbances.
While the year of 2020 was the toughest for so many of us, it was a time for purification. We discovered so many good qualities about ourselves and at the same time we recognized the bad ones. This year taught us so much about the human race. Humans are amazing! They kept going and pushing through this tough year and they did it on a global level. They found a way to adapt to all what this year threw at them and worked their way through. While they were forced to cancel all of their plans for this year, they were able to create new ones. Some found a new passion, some took a brave step to start a new journey, some were able to achieve what they couldn’t achieve before, and some were so creative they found an opportunity in the midst of a crisis.
I didn’t lose my job. I didn’t lose my house. I’m fortunate that I didn’t lose a loved one this year, but I feel for everyone who did. To everyone who lost so much this year, I hear you and I feel your pain. I invite you to let this year leave you with peace and take away your pain. Fill your heart with hope and let’s start again and let’s keep moving forward because there is always going to be a new year.
Happy New Year everyone! May the new year bring you peace, love, happiness, health, and lots of new goals and plans.
Until next time my friends,
Rama
Rama this was so beautiful! The first paragraph sounded as if I was reading from a poets book.
Thank you Vivian for reading my blog and for your kind words. This means a lot to me
Rama, I knew you were special when I first saw you in my HUSC classes. You are going to be (or maybe you are already) a VERY GOOD school counselor. Your words are so fulfilling. I hope I run into you again some day. God Bless You, Anna Young.
Anna, thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to read my blog. This means a lot to me. God bless you. Hope to see you soon
