Banned Books Week 2018 is September 23-29.
Banned Books Week is an annual celebration of the freedom to read. This annual event highlights the value of free and open access to information. The 2018 theme, “Banning Books Silences Stories,” is a reminder that everyone needs to speak out against censorship. According to the American Library Association’s Office for Intellectual Freedom (OIF), 416 books were challenged or banned in 2017.
