Being me since 1983
I’m am one of those annoying people who are always happy and giggles all the time. Want to get me really giddy? Just ask me about my two boys, Eric and Adam. They are the goofiest, silliest and sweetest little angels a mother could ask for. I have been married to my best friend for 11 years and I am living the dream! We met working part time at CCBC in the Computer Help Center. We both had huge ‘crushes’ on one another and after 2 years he asked me out (finally!!). We dated for 6 months and then he proposed to me the night before Christmas Eve at the Inner harbor. Six months later, we were married! When you know, you know.
My family is very important to me; they are the reason I am the way I am. Before I was married, I lived with both my parents and my sister. Me and my sister are only fifteen months apart and are best friends. This is why I choose to have my two boys 18 months apart. I can tell already that they are going to be best buddies! I have a great relationship with my parents and talk to my mom usually every day. I grew up in a household where respect and traditions were important, and where laughter was a must. As a teenager, I found out that it was not ‘normal’ to say “I love you” at the end of every phone conversation with your parents; but for me, not telling them you love them is weird… Now go tell your parents you love them!
As far as my professional aspirations, I have one goal: to do something creative and impactful. I have worked in Higher Education for 11 years and LOVE what it has to offer to the community; what we are doing at CCBC is changing people’s lives.
So to sum me up, I am a family person and always will be. I love all the funny stories that I still share with my sister and all the support and love my parents give me. Everyday I spend with my children is a gift and can’t wait to continue the traditions and values my parents gave me. I look forward to the future I share with my husband and wherever life will lead me, I know I am not alone. Knowing this helps me to try to find the humor in every situation and laugh at myself as often as possible.
