Spring 2023 Dance Concert

The CCBC Dance Company presents the Spring 2023 Dance Concert. We invite you to join us for an artistic journey as we share our new work.

The CCBC Dance Company is in residence at CCBC Essex, under the artistic direction of Melinda Blomquist, Artistic Director, and Associate Director Kristi Schaffner. The CCBC Dance Company is excited to perform this semester; it is wonderful to share our art with you. This concert features work by CCBC Faculty, alumni, and our guest artists Nathaniel Hunt and Peter Pucci. Each piece comes from the unique viewpoint of the choreographer, and we hope that you take time to ponder and think about each of the works after the performance.

We are pleased to share with you Nathaniel Hunt’s new choreographic work that was created for the CCBC Dance Company during an intense residency at the end of January. Peter Pucci, our guest artist in residence, is sharing a work with us that has been restaged for the company. We will also be sharing the stage with dancers from the Maryland All State Honors Ensemble in a new work created by Peter Pucci. The work combines dancers from CCBC and the Maryland All State Honors Ensemble together in an exciting new work that explores life in the Big City.

The CCBC Dance Company is known for holding mainstage performances in the fall and spring featuring choreography by CCBC faculty and various guest artists. The Company is also involved in community outreach with local schools providing special performances as well as master classes, lecture/demonstrations.
