RIKKI HOWIE LACEWELL (Deloris Van Cartier) is ecstatic to be back at CBCC Essex. We all have bucket-list roles and this one is it for Rikki. An avid performer, choreographer and director in the DMV area with over 100 shows under her belt she wishes all of you joy as we raise our voice to entertain you. Next up for Rikki is Choreographing Into the Woods at Heritage Players and Wizard of Oz at Greenbelt Arts Center. Thanks to Tom, the cast and crew for a wonderful experience and to my husband Greg for always dealing with her “I can’t – I have rehearsal”.
JAKE STUART (Curtis Jackson) was last seen here at Cockpit in Court as Trevor Graydon in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Sammy in The Wedding Singer. Favorite roles include John Wilkes Booth in Assassins, Tateh in Ragtime, Joseph in Joseph…, Jim Farrell in Titanic, Mark in RENT. Love to Lauren, Rylow, and Lyla.
JEFF BURCH (Joey) appeared as Sir Robin (and others) in Cockpit’s production of Spamalot last season. For more than four decades, he has had the good fortune to appear in dozens of shows in the Baltimore region and is especially excited about working with the multi-talented Sister Act cast, musicians and crew.
DORIAN SMITH (Pablo) is delighted to take on the role of Pablo. He has performed in CPM’s West Side Story, CCBC’s Loves Labours Lost; CPM’s The Addams Family, Crazy for You Jr. and Beth Tfiloh’s Man of La Mancha. Dorian has trained and performed with Peabody’s Dance program in Baltimore and studied under Clay Taliaferro. He will be attending CCBC in the fall, and would like to thank his parents and grandmother for their support.
TYRELL STANLEY (TJ) is so excited to part of this amazing cast. Past shows at Cockpit in Court include Gypsy, Peter Pan, The Wedding Singer, Thoroughly Modern Mille & Spamalot. He is an alumni of The Children’s Playhouse of MD, where he played such roles as Tyrone Jackson in Fame & Jacob Marley in A Christmas Carol. He has an apprenticeship with Baltimore’s CENTER STAGE in Electrics and aspires to be a Production & Lighting Designer. His ultimate goal is to change people’s lives through Art & the gifts God has blessed him with.
TROY HAINES HOPPER (Officer Eddie Souther) Cockpit in Court debut. JANE C. BOYLE (Mother Superior) is blessed to return to Cockpit after MANY years’ absence! Appeared recently as Miss Tweed in Vagabonds’ Something’s Afoot! Toby’s Dinner Theatre audiences will remember her as the Wardrobe, Jack’s Mother, Ruth in Pirates of Penzance or Mother Superior in Nunsense, to name a few. Thank YOU for supporting live theatre!
THOM SINN (Monsignor O’Hara) has been all around Baltimore theater for the past eleven years. You may have seen him at Spotlighter’s, Vagabond’s, Fells Point Corner Theater, Cohesion, Pumpkin, Dundalk Community Theater, 2nd Star Productions (that’s Bowie), or Colonial Theater in Annapolis. JUDY RICCI (Sister Mary Patrick) is so excited to be back on the Cockpit stage and connecting with old friends. Her last show here was They’re Playing Our Song in the summer of 1991. Favorite roles include Sister Mary Amnesia in Nunsense, Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical, Esther Smith in Meet Me In St. Louis where she met her husband Dave. Judy is a School Counselor at Perry Hall Christian School and would like to thank her daughters, Alice and Emily, for supporting this endeavor.
SHERRY BENEDEK (Sister Mary Robert) is excited return for her second show at Cockpit in Court. When not on stage, Sherry teaches private voice and piano lessons and dances lindy hop at the Mobtown Ballroom. LAUREN LOWELL (Sister Mary Lazarus) is excited to be in her first production with Cockpit In Court! Favorite previous roles include Martha in The Secret Garden with Memorial Players, Muzzy Van Hossmere in Thoroughly Modern Millie with Heritage Players, the Beggar Woman in Sweeney Todd with Laurel Mill Playhouse, and Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors with Artistic Synergy. When Lauren is not on stage, she can found teaching Hip Hop or directing the Junior shows for STAR Ltd in Catonsville. She would like to thank her hubby and Babyhead for always supporting her theatre endeavors.
MARIBETH VOGEL (Sister Mary Martin of Tours) was previously seen at Cockpit also playing a nun—Mother Superior in Nunsense. She was last seen as Clairee in Steel Magnolias with Heritage Players, Louise in Always, Patsy Cline at Dundalk Community Theatre, Dotty in Noises Off and Roz in Nine to Five,The Musical at Silhouette Stages. Other favorite roles include Princess Puffer in Edwin Drood (ASGT), Charlotte Hay in Moon Over Buffalo and Gorgeous in The Sisters Rosenzweig (DCT), Dolly Levi (Spotlighters) and Mama Rose. Her greatest productions, however, are her kids, Matthew (26) and Claire (24).
AMY LUCHEY (Michelle, Nun, Dancer) is so happy to be back on the Cockpit stage. Amy was last seen here as Millie Dilmount in Thoroughly Modern Millie. Previous credits include Legally Blonde (Brooke Wyndham), Curtains (Roberta) at Cockpit in Court; Little Women (Meg), Cinderella (Cinderella) at Dundalk Community Theater; Young Frankenstein (Lab Babe), 1776 (Martha Jefferson), Legally Blonde (Brooke Wyndham), Cabaret (Rosie) at Milburn Stone Theater. When not onstage, Amy spends her days as a group fitness director for Merritt Clubs at their White Marsh and Towson locations.
LACY COMSTOCK (Tina, Nun, Dancer) is happy to perform again with Cockpit in Court after having appeared as Holly Sullivan in The Wedding Singer. Favorite roles include Liz in Chicago and Phyllis Dale in 42nd Street (Annapolis Summer Garden Theatre). She has also appeared in Shrek (DCT), The Producers (ASGT and PFT), George M! (Suburban Players), and Crazy For You (Cockpit). Lacy can be seen next in Light Up the Stars, a September fundraiser for the Power Up campaign at Annapolis Summer Garden Theater.
BRIAN KRASZEWSKI (Ernie, Ensemble) is excited to be returning to Cockpit in Court after a long absence. He was last seen portraying The Mad Hatter and others in Dundalk Community Theatre’s production of Shrek: The Musical. ANNE ACERNO (Sister Mary Theresa) is thrilled to be appearing in her first Cockpit show! She was recently seen as Mama Ogre in Shrek the Musical at Dundalk Community Theatre and as Sister Margaretta in The Sound of Music with John Carroll Summer Community Theatre. Anne would like to thank the incredibly talented cast and crew and especially Tom for allowing her the chance to be a part of this. It’s good to be a nun! She would also like to thank her husband and four beautiful girls for all of their love, encouragement and support.
NICOLE ARRISON (Nun, Fantasy Singer) is a Junior at Stevenson University. She has been performing since 2006 and has been involved in many productions within Cockpit, Children’s Playhouse of Maryland, and Dundalk Community Theatre. She is thankful for another opportunity to be directed by Tom Wyatt and to perform on the Cockpit stage.
CIARA FRANKLIN (Mary Irene, Fantasy Singer) is grateful to take part in this production – her second show… EVER! Currently a junior at PHHS, she has played Motormouth Maybelle in HAIRSPRAY (her theatre debut!) and looks forward to continuing to learn and grow onstage!
SARAH JONES (Nun, Fantasy Singer) is making her Cockpit debut as a rising senior in the performance theatre program at Patapsco High School & Center for the Arts! Her favorite credits include A Chorus Line (Cassie), Annie (Annie), She Kills Monsters (Tilly), The Addams Family (Pugsley), and The Robber Bridegroom (Raven).
KELSEY LUCHEY (Nun, Waitress, Dancer) is thrilled to be returning to the Baltimore area and joining the cast of Sister Act. Previously she was in Baltimore area productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie, Legally Blonde, La Cage Aux Faux, and many more. Thanks to all of my family and friends for their support!
STEPHANIE SHADE (Mary Celeste) is an actor based in Columbia. She last appeared in Little Women (Mrs. Kirk) at DCT and is thrilled to be a part of Sister Act. Favorite credits include: The Hollow (Gerda Cristow) with Laurel Mill Playhouse and Haddon Hall (chorus) with Victorian Lyric Opera Company.
LAUREN STUART (Nun, Dancer) is excited to return to the Cockpit Stage with her husband after a 3 year hiatus. Favorite Roles include: Heidi in Title of Show, Kate in Legally Blonde, A Flapper in The Addams Family, and Ginger in 1940’s Radio Hour. Love and thanks to Danell, her family, and Jake.
JOSH SCHOFF (Cab Driver, Cop, Ensemble) is excited to be on the Cockpit mainstage for another season. Recent productions include Forever Plaid (Frankie), Shrek the Musical (Pinocchio), A Soldier’s Play (Captain Taylor), Godspell (We Beseech Thee). Josh is a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania, where he has appeared in Under Construction (Actor).
GREG DOHMEIER (Newscaster, Cop, Ensemble) is excited to be a part of Sister Act. Some favorite roles include Murdoch in Titanic, Albert in Bye Bye Birdie and Horton in Seussical. He also directed the musical Mame this past Spring. Love to Mary, Emma and Abby.
LOU GHITMAN (Cop, Ensemble) last appeared on the Cockpit stage in 2013’s Me and My Girl. Other credits include roles in Oklahoma!, 42nd Street, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Crazy for You, Kismet, Man of La Mancha, City of Angels, West Side Story, Beau Jest, and La Cage Aux Folles (twice !)

TOM WYATT (Director & Choreographer) Most recently, Tom has directed Cockpit productions of Me and My Girl, The Secret Garden & Curtains, as well as past productions of OKLAHOMA!, 42nd Street and BIG – the Musical. As a performer, he has been seen in The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife and The Gazebo. He has also staged Little Women, Leader of the Pack, Annie, The Drowsy Chaperone and Titanic – the Musical at Dundalk Community Theatre. In the 1980’s, Tom began performing here at Cockpit, in Pippin, Mack & Mabel and Cole. He is happy to continue supporting Live Theatre in Baltimore.
BECA WISEMAN (Stage Manager) is thrilled to be doing her first show with Cockpit. She has been Stage Managing for seven years and will be graduating from Towson University in December with a degree in Theatre Design and Production. Recent credits include Noises Off, Death of a Salesman, Streetcar Named Desire (Everyman Theatre), Cabaret, No Child (Towson University), and Stranger Kindness (Acme Corporation), amongst many more. She currently works at Everyman Theatre and Harford Community College Summer Youth Programs. Much love to this cast and crew for being so Fabulous (baby)!!
G. MAURICE “MOE” CONN (Set Design) is the full-time Technical Director and Designer at CCBC Catonsville Center for the Arts Theatre. He has an MFA in Scene Design and Technical Theatre. Moe has been doing technical theatre since 1993, as a Designer, Technician, Technical Director, and Educator. Moe had also served as the Technical Director and Designer for Cockpit in Court Theatre, Maryland’s Oldest Summer theatre, for 4 summers. Moe has received multiple nominations for Best Scene Design from Broadway World.com and Received Best Scenic Design from the MD Theatre Guide’s Readers’ Choice Awards. When not backstage, Moe volunteers with the ESTA foundation’s “Behind the Scenes”. He also helps coordinate the Long Reach Long Riders charity motorcycle ride, (www.LRLR.org ) to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity fights AIDS and ESTA’s Behind the Scenes, two theatre based charities.
KACEY CONN (Lighting Design) is thrilled to be designing lights for Sister Act. As the current Cockpit in Court Board President, supporting the organization from many directions brings her much joy. Previous design credits include Spamalot, An Evening of Murder, and The Secret Garden here at Cockpit, Queen Mab at Towson University, and Queer Cafe at Baltimore’s Theatre Project. It’s great fun to be able to work with husband and scenic designer Maurice “Moe” Conn III again (and only for Tom would we do that). In their spare time they can be found supporting Behind the Scenes, a charity that helps Designers and Technicians in need, by riding in their annual motorcycle charity ride. RACHEL HAWKINS (Sound Designer) is an Audio Engineer with over 3 years of experience. She is a Sheffield Institute for the Recording Arts alumni after completing the Audio Works program in 2014, and is now studying at Harford Community College for an A.A.S. in Mass Communications. She is currently working as a technician for Harford Community College’s cultural events organization called LIVE! at Harford Community College.
She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa national honors society, Rho Beta Chapter, Middle States Region, with a cumulative GPA of 3.79. She was the Sound Designer for Phoenix Festival Theatre’s Wizard of Oz production, and has worked on various productions with Harford Dance Theatre. She has also recently received a Screech Award, awarded by Harford Community College’s Mass Communications Dept., for a short film she worked on as a semester project.

ALAN MENKEN’s music and lyrics have become an integral part of the fabric of our lives since his first works were produced nearly 40 years ago. GLENN SLATER co-created Disney’s 2010 worldwide smash Tangled (2011 Grammy Winner, 2010 Oscar and Golden Globe nominee), as well as the Broadway and international hit musicals Sister Act (2011 Tony nominee – Best Score) and The Little Mermaid (2008 Tony nominee – Best Score, Grammy nominee – Best Cast Album), and, most recently School of Rock (2015). With longtime collaborator Alan Menken, he is Executive Producer and Lyricist for the ABC-TV musical comedy series Galavant, and has also written songs for the Disney animated film Home On The Range (2004) and the Broadway musical Leap of Faith (Tony nominee – Best Musical, 2012). In the West End, Glenn provided both book and lyrics for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies (2010 Olivier nominee – Best Musical), the sequel to Phantom of the Opera. CHERI STEINKELLNER has won four Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes, The People s Choice, BAFTA, Writers Guild Award, Parents Choice and TV-Land Legend Awards, for writing and producing Cheers (recently named one of the Top 10 Best Written Comedies in TV history), and The Jeffersons, Facts of Life, Family Ties and Who’s The Boss, and for creating the acclaimed Disney animated Saturday morning TV series and feature film, Teacher s Pet. A 2011 Tony-nominee for Sister Act (with husband Bill Steinkellner, Alan Menken and Glenn Slater); Cheri has also written Princesses (with Bill, David Zippel and Matthew Wilder); and book and lyrics for Mosaic (with Georgia Stitt), and Jailbirds on Broadway (with Bill and Jeff Rizzo). Other stage includes Our Place, and Instaplay – L.A. s original – and longest-running – improvised musical-comedy. An Indy Award winner and Ovation nominee for Hello! DOUGLAS CARTER BEANE’s Broadway play The Little Dog Laughed received the GLAAD media award for best play, and was also nominated for a Tony for best new play. His other works include As Bees In Honey Drown (Outer Critics Circle John Gassner Award), Music From A Sparkling Planet and The Country Club. He wrote the screenplay for the film adaptation of his play Advice From A Caterpillar which won Aspen Comedy Festival’s best feature. His film To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar was produced by Steven Spielberg, was the number one film in America for a month and is now a television favorite. The Big Time, Beane’s first musical, received rave reviews last year and his next musical, a stage adaptation of the film The Bandwagon is slated to open on Broadway later this season. Fascinated by non-traditional forms of theater, Beane has written the revues, White Lies and Mondo Drama and this season a live theatrical soap opera, The Cartells. As artistic director of the New York theater company Drama Dept. he produced over forty productions, including acclaimed revivals of As Thousands Cheer, June Moon and The Torchbearers and world premiere works by Paul Rudnick, David Sedaris and Wendy Wasserstein. His new play, Don’t Follow Me, I’m Lost, Too will open next season in New York and he is currently developing a television series for producer Lorne Michaels. He resides in New York City with his partner, composer Lewis Flinn and their son, Cooper.
