WHO’S WHO

LIZ BOYER HUNNICUTT started at Cockpit in Court in 1981 in Dark of the Moon. Her Cockpit show history: Evita (Eva); They’re Playing Our Song (Sonia); The Goodbye Girl – MD Premiere (Paula); How to Succeed… (Smitty); Blood Brothers (Mrs. Johnstone); Mame (Vera); The Will Rogers Follies (Betty Blake); Crimes of the Heart (Lenny); The Full Monty (Georgie); The Inspector Calls (Mrs. Birling); Love Letters (Melissa); Nunsense (Sr. Hubert); Urinetown (Ms. Pennywise); The Wizard of Oz (Wicked Witch); Curtains (Carmen); The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife (Marjorie); Thoroughly Modern Millie (Mrs. Meers); The Gazebo (Nell Nash); Vanya, Sonia, Masha & Spike (Sonia) and Come Back to the Five & Dime Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean (Juanita). Along with performing Liz has directed Camp Rock: The Musical, Seussical Jr., Annie Jr., The Little Mermaid Jr., Mulan Jr., Madagascar Jr., and last season’s The Lion King Jr. for Cockpit’s children’s Court Jesters. She has also represented Cockpit in Godspell at the International Theatre Festivals in Japan and Russia. Liz is the Resident Director for The Children’s Playhouse of MD which is in residency here on the CCBC Essex Campus. She is happily married to James whom she met in a show right here at Cockpit in 1987. Liz is honored to help celebrate this theatre and to share the stage with these outstanding performers!

KEN EWING has appeared in many shows around town over the past few decades. Key performances have included Lancelot in Camelot, Rochester in Jane Eyre the Musical, Trevor Greydon in Thoroughly Modern Millie, and the title roles in Jekyll & Hyde. Offstage Ken is husband to Christina and father to Kara and Corey.

DARREN MCDONNELL is proud to be on the Board of Directors here at Cockpit in Court. His first show at Cockpit was, Anything Goes in 1980 and Cockpit audiences last saw him as Mortimer in Arsenic and Old Lace in 2017. Darren received a Helen Hayes Best Supporting Actor in a Musical nomination for his portrayal of Sir Robin in Spamalot at Toby’s Dinner Theatre. Other credits include: Dan in Next to Normal and Victor Prynne in Private Lives, both at Vagabonds, and most recently, Harry Bright in Mamma Mia at Toby’s Dinner Theatre. By day Darren works as a Marketing and Sales Associate at Roland Park Place Retirement Community.
NADINE WELLINGTON is a veteran performer having appeared in numerous theatre productions throughout the Baltimore Metropolitan area. Most recent roles include Jacqueline in LeCage at Dundalk Community Theater; Grace in Gypsy at Cockpit in Court, and Norma Desmone in Sunset Boulevard at Cockpit in Court. Favorite roles include Mrs. Baskin in BIG; Mrs. Lyons in Bloodbrothers, Maggie Jones in 42nd Street, Dolly in Annie Get Your Gun, Pam in BABY, Joan in Dames at Sea, and Irene Malloy in Hello Dolly, Additional credits include Agnas in I Do, I Do, Marian Paroo in Music Man, Ann Collier in 1940’s Radio Music Hour, Lettie in Something’s Afoot, Josephine/Monica in Romance Romance, Tzeitel in Fiddler on the Roof, Maria in The Sound of Music, Countess Charlotte in A Little Night Music, Grace in Bus Stop, Sheila in A Chorus Line, and Amy in Company. Nadine’s passion for Big Band music is lived out as the lead vocalist for the Bel Air Jazz Band. In this role for the past 12 years, she has mentored aspiring big band singers and performed for many charitable events. Nadine is also a guest performer for the Bel Air Concert Band. Nadine is thrilled to be ringing in the holidays with these “seasoned” performers!!
SCOTT SHARNETZKA (Conductor) is a native of York County, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Lebanon Valley College with a B.S. Degree in Music Education in 1968. He served with the 327th Army Band from 1968 to 1971 as solo cornetist and leader of the Jazz Band. In 1973 he graduated from the Peabody Conservatory with a Master of Music Degree in Trumpet. He has recently retired as a band director in Harford County Public Schools serving in that capacity and as Department Chair at C.Milton Wright High School from 1979 to 2003. He has held the position of Director of the Bel Air Community Band and the Bel Air Jazz Ensemble since 1996. He spent a year as the interim Band Director at Elizabethtown College and is presently on the staff of Harford Community College as an adjunct professor of music. Mr. Sharnetzka is active as a guest conductor and adjudicator throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Mr. Sharnetzka has performed with the Ice Capades, the Ice Follies, the Moscow Circus, numerous Off-Broadway Shows and as a Free-Lance trumpet player in Pennsylvania and Maryland. He is a student of Don Tison and studied conducting with Dr. James Thurmond and Dr. Richard Higgins. His professional memberships include the NEA, NAfME, MMEA, MBDA, PMEA, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and The Association of Concert Bands. In 1997 he received the Maryland Music Educators Association Award for ExcellenceOutstanding Music Teacher of the Year Award. In 2012 he had the honor of being inducted into the Maryland Music Educators Hall of Fame. Mr. Sharnetzka lives in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania with his wife Sandra (also a retired music teacher from Harford County). They have two sons, Craig and daughter-in-law, Rachel, three grandchildren Corinne, Levi and Evah and son Adam and daughter-in-law, Layla.
