WHO’S WHO
SERENITY HOLMES (Rafiki) is very excited to be playing Rafiki this summer with Cockpit in Court. Some of her favorite roles have been (Belle) Beauty & the Beast, (Jack) Into the Woods, and recently, (Alice Blake) in the play Up the Down Staircase in which she won her first Baltimore Theatre Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play. She would like to thank everyone who made this show possible and looks forward to working with you all again soon. Enjoy the show!!
ZACHARY BYRD (Mufasa) is in his 5th season with the Cockpit in Court Jesters. I have truly enjoyed preforming on stage with an amazing cast and crew. Thank you for all the hard work and dedication.
DYLAN MORRISON (Scar) is very excited to play the role of Scar in his 4th season with Cockpit in Court. Dylan is thirteen years old and has been performing since the age of eight. He has been in many CPM and Cockpit in Court productions. Some of his favorite roles include Gavroche in Les Miserables and Pugsley Addams in The Addams Family. He has also played Michael Banks in Mary Poppins, John Darling in Peter Pan and Young Terk in Tarzan at John Carroll High School. You may recognize him as Scar from CPMs production of The Lion KIng Jr, in 2017. Dylan would like to thank his family for their support, Ms. Liz and Ms. Amanda for all the amazing opportunities they have given him.
EVELYN ACERNO (Young Simba) is thrilled to be appearing in her 6th season with Cockpit in Court! She also performs with Children’s Playhouse of MD, John Carroll School, Archangel Players and is a company member of The Shadow Players. Favorite past roles and shows include Kowalski the Penguin in Madagascar (Cockpit), A Wickersham Brother in Seussical (CPM), and an orphan in Annie (Cockpit). She is a rising 5th grader at Fountain Green Elementary who studies dance at Rage Box Contemporary Dance Center and loves animals, especially her three dogs! Evelyn would like to thank Mrs. Liz for giving her this role, Mrs. Amanda for everything, Mr. Ryan, Matt and the entire cast and crew!
ETHAN HOLLER (Simba) is excited to be back on the Cockpit in Court stage. Past Cockpit shows include The Little Mermaid Jr. He has also been in several Children’s Playhouse of Maryland shows including Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Singing in the Rain Jr., Scrooge, and Hairspray. Ethan was most recently seen in Edges at the George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology where he is a rising sophomore in the Acting Prime. He would like to thank Ms. Liz, Ms. Amanda, and Mr. Ryan for this wonderful opportunity.
AMY CLAUDIO (Young Nala) is 10 years old & is excited to perform in her 10th musical! Past shows with CPM & Cockpit in Court include Hello Dolly, My Son Pinocchio, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, James & the Giant Peach, Elf, Lion King, Seussical, The Little Mermaid & Mulan. Amy loves singing & dancing and playing the ukulele. She has been dancing jazz, tap, & ballet for 6 years. Amy also loves reading books, watching music videos, and spending time with her family & friends. Amy is grateful to all CPM / Cockpit in Court directors and is looking forward to more fantastic shows in the theater. Hope you enjoy Lion King, Jr and remember, Hakuna Matata!
KATHRYN SCHUDEL (Nala) is thrilled to be making her 3rd Cockpit in the Court appearance in this production of Lion King Jr. She has also performed with the Children’s Playhouse of Maryland. She loves to sing, dance, act and everything theater related. She would like to thank her family for all their support and Ms. Liz and Ms. Amanda for this opportunity!
BELLA COMOTTO (Timon) is thrilled to play wisecracking Timon in Lion King Jr.! Last summer, she appeared as Skipper in Madagascar, Jr. for Cockpit in Court. In May, she traveled with CPM to NYC for Young Performers of America workshops with rising and veteran Broadway stars. She last appeared as Jojo in Seussical Jr. for CPM, a role she truly loved. Other previous credits include: Kathy Cratchit (Scrooge), and a member of the Ensemble in Singin’ in the Rain, Lion King and Elf (CPM). Bella is an incoming 6th grader at Immaculate Heart of Mary and loves musical theatre…her current favorites are Hamilton (Phillipa Soo is her idol!), Once on this Island, and School of Rock. A BIG thanks to Ms. Liz for believing in me. Love to my awesome friends and family!
JACQUELINE HICKS (Pumbaa) previously starred as Zazu in The Lion King, Jr. and as Centipede in James and the Giant Peach, both with the Children’s Playhouse of Maryland. She also played the role of Emily Webb Gibbs in Our Town at her school, and has enjoyed various ensemble roles with CPM, Cockpit in Court, and Pumpkin Theatre. Jackie spent seven years of her life in China and she loves singing and dancing. Philippians 4:13
LIZ BOYER HUNNICUTT (Director) is thrilled to return to the Court Jesters having directed Camp Rock, Seussical Jr., Annie Jr., The Little Mermaid Jr., Mulan Jr. and last season’s Madagascar Jr. Also an actor, you can see Liz in this season’s Come Back to the Five & Dime Jimmy Dean Jimmy Dean in the cabaret theatre in July. Liz is the Resident Director for the The Children’s Playhouse of MD in residence here at CCBC. Offstage, she likes to spend time with husband, James.
RYAN SLATTERY (Music Director) is very pleased to be making his music directing debut in The Lion King Jr! He is preparing for his fourth year at The Catholic University of America pursuing a Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance. His most recent credits include Basilio in Le nozze di Figaro, The Narrator in Berlioz’s L’Enfance du Christ, and Dr. Miracle in Dr. Miracle. Ryan is no stranger to Cockpit in Court, starring as Jesus in Godspell for their 2016 season and reprising his role as Sparky in Forever Plaid in 2017. A big thank you to all who have dedicated their time and efforts to make this the show the spectacle that it is, specifically Liz Hunnicutt, Amanda Dickson, Matthew Byrd, the LKJ families, and of course, the cast. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with such talented actors and actresses! All that’s left to say is, “be prepared!”
AMANDA POXON (Choreographer) is the Education Director and Resident Choreographer for The Children’s Playhouse of MD. She recently was in this season’s Avenue Q on the mainstage in June.
MATTHEW BYRD (Stage Manager) is going into his Senior year at Catonsville High School. This is my first chance to stage manage a show. I would like to thank Mr. James and Mrs. Liz for this amazing opportunity, I’d also like to thank the wonderful cast and crew for making this such an amazing experience.
SHARON BYRD (Costume Coordinator) is in her 5th season working with Cockpit In Court. She is the Resident Costumer for The Children’s Playhouse of MD. She is excited to work with the cast and crew of Lion King Jr. Thank you to all the Moms that have helped with costumes.
MICHAEL RASINSKI (Set/Lighting Designer/Technical Director) is happy to be returning to Cockpit in Court for his 13th season. He is an Alumnus of Towson University’s Theatrical Design and Production program. Michael also works as a carpenter for the Everyman Theatre and for CCBC’s Academic Theatre Program.
TERRY EDWARDS (Sound Designer) is happy to be back this summer at Cockpit in Court to run sound for Avenue Q. In the past, Terry has had the pleasure of working shows like, Wedding Singer, Curtains, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Hairspray, Me and my Girl, and Legally Blonde to name a few. When not behind an audio board, Terry works at MGM National Harbor as a Conservatory Tech working on lights and sound for the Atrium. Terry plans on working audio in The Theatre at MGM in the future.
LAURA MILLER (Scenic Artist) has a BFA in graphic design from the Maryland Institute, College of Art (MICA) and is the Resident Scenic Artist for the Children’s Playhouse of Maryland. She has worked with Cockpit in Court for the past 10 seasons both for the Court Jesters as well as several main stage productions. Laura works in the Creative Arts department at Beth Tfiloh Community School, is the office administrator for the Baltimore Theatre Awards and does graphic design and fundraising work for the Children’s Playhouse of Maryland.
