COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA STUDIES
Charlotte Connelly
Charlotte Connelly is graduating from CCBC in the area of Communication and Media Studies. Charlotte had an outstanding performance in our discipline and will continue on at one of our four-year institutions. The Communication and Media Studies department thanks Charlotte for being a diligent student and we see a promising career for Charlotte! We wish Charlotte good luck!
DANCE
Rachel Huber (AFA Fine and Performing Arts)
Rachel will graduate with her AFA degree in Dance. Her immediate plan after graduation is to attend the American Dance Festival. She received a scholarship from ADF, the Carole Cascio Fund for Mind Movement Dance Connections, and CCBC to attend the month-long dance festival this summer where she will have the opportunity to study and work with professionals in the field.
FINE ART AND VISUAL DESIGN

Julian Alexander
Julian Alexander (AFA Fine and Performing Arts – Fine Art and Visual Design) is an excellent student who is on the Dean’s List and the Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society. He is a digital art major interested in animation and character design. Julian has been admitted into Towson where he will continue working towards his goal to work in the field of animation.
Sienna Hare
Sienna Hare (AFA Fine and Performing Arts – Fine Art and Visual Design) has thoughtfully explored issues of race and gender in her classes in the Art department at CCBC. She has created powerful pieces in ceramics, drawing, painting, and illustration. This year Sienna will focus of refining her portfolio and medium of study while working at a hospital. Her goal is to transfer to a four-year BFA program in the future.
Amy McHugh
Amy McHugh (AFA Fine and Performing Arts – Fine Art and Visual Design) was awarded the Outstanding Student in Art and Design award during the Spring 2023 semester student awards banquet. Amy is a wonderful student who inspires classmates with her hard work and in all aspects of her art and process. Her work ignites the imagination with excellent composition, smart design, and whimsical scenes that keep the viewer engaged with every detail and nuance. Amy’s work includes thoughtful content, and she draws on both academic and studio courses when creating art. Amy was awarded a paid Mellon grant funded internship at Baltimore Clayworks, and they have loved her work so much that they are extending the internship into a mentorship over the summer. Amy was also awarded a scholarship to attend Haystack Mountain School of Crafts for next year. She will be developing her transfer portfolio and applying to 4-year art schools next year. Her current goal is to set up her own home studio to do ceramics whenever she likes.
Janne Thai
Janne Thai (AFA Fine and Performing Arts – Fine Art and Visual Design) was awarded the Outstanding Student in Design and Illustration award and the Three Arts Award of Homeland in Painting during the Spring 2023 semester student awards banquet. Janne is a dedicated student who excels in many courses. She is regularly on the Dean’s list. She is a talented digital illustrator and designer who creates thoughtful and thematic works with a touch of humor. She is also a work study student for the CCBC Galleries and a valuable member of the college community. Janne plans to transfer to Towson in the Fall to study illustration.

Krystal Goodrich
Krystal accepted a position at the Hearing and Speech Agency’s Centralized Interpreter Referral Service (HASA CIRS) as both an interpreter scheduler and an interpreter program intern. She was also a cast member in the CCBC spring performance Goya: En La Quinta del Sordo (In the house of the Deaf Man). During the summer of 2023, Krystal has plans to screen for a couple other interpreting agencies to broaden her interpreting assignments.
Morgan Goods
After graduation Morgan plans to work as an interpreter while simultaneously pursuing her B.A.S. in Sign Language Interpreting at Siena Heights University.
Clara Lamberti
Clara started working at Joyful Signing, LLC as a scheduling coordinator and community interpreter. In July 2023, Clara will also be getting married to her fiancé, Eric, whom you see featured in her picture.
Tara MacTigue
Tara is currently working full-time as an ASL interpreter in the education setting, specifically at the high-school level. In June after graduation, she will be moving to St. Petersburg, Florida where she plans to continue and grow her career as an ASL Interpreter.
Isabel Montero
Isabel has been working at Purple Communications performing Video Relay Services (VRS) as well as working as an Educational Interpreter for ContextGlobal. Isabel is also marrying her fiancé, whom you see pictured with her.
Ashley O’Neal
Ashley will continue working with the Hearing and Speech Agency’s Centralized Interpreter Referral Service (HASA CIRS) intern program and has future plans to begin working for a Video Relay Service (VRS) company.
Sharon Shaffer
Sharon plans to work as a freelance interpreter as well as complete an internship with the Hearing and Speech Agency’s Centralized Interpreter Referral Service (HASA CIRS).
Rachel Lauren Stesch
In the short-term, Rachel will continue her role as a community interpreter. She plans to start educational interpreting in the future while she works towards passing the National Interpreter Certification (NIC).
Sierra Upton
Sierra obtained an interpreting job at McDaniel College and is currently in the process of joining a few different Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) and Community Interpreting agencies. She recently passed her first Center for Assessment of Sign Language Interpreters (CASLI) Written exam, and has a goal is to pass the CASLI Performance exam in 2024. Her long-term goal is to join the staff of a major hospital as a medical interpreter.
MUSIC
Elizabeth Vogel
Elizabeth “Ellie” Vogel (AA in humanities and social sciences with a concentration in music) has felt at home in the music program at CCBC and is grateful to have met some of her closest friends here. Elizabeth Vogel was awarded with 2023’s “Instrumentalist of the Year” in the program after taking lessons for viola (her primary), guitar (her secondary), and voice in the same semester to prepare her for her future career!
Her next step is to attend the University of Louisville and work toward a bachelor’s degree in music therapy.
THEATRE
Benjamin McCardell
Benjamin McCardel (he/they) (AFA Fine & Performing Arts – Theatre) has starred in CCBC’s productions of Hotel Cassiopeia, A New Brain, and The Underpants. He also directed The Harvest by Samuel D. Hunter for CCBC’s 2022 Directors Fest and had his play Pierrot read as part of the 2023 Art Farm. They’ll be heading to either UMBC or NYU this fall.
Anna Tsakalas
Anna (AA Production and Design) has been a Stage Manager for Barbecue and the 2022 spring dance concert, ASM for Speech and Debate and Fabulation, and had their acting debut in Hotel Cassiopeia at CCBC theatre. They plan on transferring to UMBC in the fall as a Theatre Design major and be focusing in on prop making and set design.
